Job Description

Full-Time (40 hours per week, some weekends required)

Reports to: Campus Pastor

Summary of Role

The Campus Worship Pastor is responsible for overseeing all worship environments at the specified campus in alignment with the Emmanuel Church vision to see people come to Christ and grow in Christ. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the weekly execution of the worship experience for the weekend service at your campus, serving with adult worship team on > 75% of weekends 
  • Collaborate with student ministries and family ministries teams to oversee the execution of youth worship experiences 
  • Facilitate the ongoing spiritual, musical, and worship development of the campus worship team (Adults and Students) through regular check-ins with worship team members and planning team workshops 
  • Manage weekly communication with worship team for weekend preparation 
  • Manage weekly/monthly scheduling of campus worship team utilizing Planning Center and collaborating with other Campus Worship Directors to help with worship coverage across campuses 
  • Recruit, audition, and onboard new musicians, following the standardized process 
  • Oversee bi-weekly payroll for contracted worship and production Impact Team 
  • Assist Campus Pastor in executing campus-specific events (Impact Team Nights, Funerals, Weddings, etc.) 
  • Attend regular staff meetings and additional meetings as requested. 
  • Assist Emmanuel Church staff with special services and events when requested. 
  • Foster and champion a healthy staff culture by adhering to Emmanuel staff values and through a growing personal relationship with Christ. 
  • Other related tasks as assigned


Qualifications and Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Prior experience leading a worship team

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficiency in either voice, guitar, bass, drums, or piano
  • Has a pastoral passion to help people take their next steps spiritually and musically 
  • Strong public communication and interpersonal skills.  
  • Ability to learn musical production software (Ableton, Playback, etc.) 
  • Ability to learn and use Emmanuel’s systems (Rock, Planning Center, etc.) and learn and adapt to new technology
  • Demonstrate ability to create, coordinate, and lead a worship experience with a team
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team in a flexible and cooperative manner, self-motivated
  • Demonstrate confidentiality and discretion when handling personal and ministry information
  • Demonstrate a servant heart with spiritual maturity and sensitivity

o   Financial support of the church with your tithe

o   Attend one weekend service each week and monthly staff meetings

o   Participate in community through small group

o   Prioritize a Sabbath (one 24-hour period of time off work each week)
