Job Description

Part-Time (25 hours per week, some weekends required)

Reports to: Kids Ministry Pastor/Director

Summary of Role

Under the direction of the Kids Ministry Pastor/Director, the Campus Nursery Impact Team will prepare and equip all Nursery, Toddler, and Two’s classrooms, and provide support to all Impact Team members and staff serving in those environments. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the process of recruiting, onboarding, and training new Impact Team members for Nursery, Toddler, and Two’s classrooms
  • Schedule, follow up with, and confirm Impact Team members for each weekend service environment for the Nursery, Toddler, and Two’s rooms.
  • Provide Nursery, Toddler, and Two’s classroom leaders with the curriculum materials and tools needed to come to the environment prepared each weekend.
  • Familiarize yourself with the Toddler and Two’s curriculum material and activities to be prepared to answer questions from Impact Team members.
  • Check with Nursery, Toddler, and Two’s Impact Team members for each service to verify all people are accounted for and positions are filled.
  • Ensure pertinent classroom and serving area data is accurate and updated by using church software.
  • Manage each area weekly, ensuring that all supplies (toys, wipes, etc.) are stocked and all room features are in good working order, submit facility request for items in need of repair.
  • Partner with parents to provide resources to accomplish the goal of families reinforcing the weekend service topics throughout the week.
  • Work closely with Kids Ministry Pastor/Director to plan for Family Ministry events, or other church-wide events.
  • Recruit and train adult and student childcare workers
  • Prepare childcare environments, stock them with required, age-appropriate supplies (wipes, toys, etc.)
  • Ensure safety of all childcare environments by maintaining ratios, and determining whether physical environments are appropriate for each child's respective age and developmental level
  • Other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • Some college experience preferred
  • Experience in a Kids Ministry environment (paid or volunteer) preferred

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with experience in conflict resolution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational/administrative skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Ability to learn and use Emmanuel’s systems (Rock, Planning Center, etc.) and learn and adapt to new technology
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team in a flexible and cooperative manner, self-motivated
  • Demonstrate confidentiality and discretion when handling personal and ministry information
  • Demonstrate a servant heart with spiritual maturity and sensitivity

General Requirements

  • Successful completion of a background check
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to commute to and from work daily

    • Attend one weekend service each week and monthly staff meetings
    • Participate in community through small group
    • Prioritize a Sabbath (one 24-hour period off work each week)
